Arrival time — please be seated by 4:15.
Cocktail / garden-party festive — colorful and comfortable to dance in.
Funky, colorful + fun — think cocktail dresses, a flowy midi, or a fun jumpsuit. Anything that makes you feel great and ready to dance! Since the ceremony is on grass by the water, a block heel or flat will treat you better than a stiletto.
A sport coat and slacks does the trick — a suit if you're fancy. Wear a tie, don't wear a tie — totally up to you. Don't be shy with a little color, and pick something you can comfortably dance in all night long.
We can't wait to have you in Jamestown — our quiet, beautiful island tucked into Narragansett Bay, just a short bridge ride from Newport.
Jamestown is on Conanicut Island — reach it via the Jamestown–Verrazzano Bridge from the west (Route 138) or the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge from the east.
From Providence: ~35–40 min. From Boston: ~1.5 hrs. From New York: ~3–3.5 hrs.
Closest airport is T.F. Green (PVD) in Warwick, about 30 minutes away.
Boston Logan (BOS) is around 1.5 hours with more direct flight options. Grab a rideshare or rental from either.
Easy and free in Jamestown village.
Heading into Newport — especially during the boat show (Sept 17–20) — get there early. Best lot for the show is Easton's Beach, 175 Memorial Blvd.
Two options — and the commuter rail is the move if you're coming from Boston and want to save cash.
Amtrak (Northeast Regional + Acela) stops at Providence Station, ~35 min from Jamestown. Faster and a bit fancier, but you'll pay for it. Book at amtrak.com.
MBTA Commuter Rail is much cheaper (fares from $2.40) with a few stops to choose from:
• Providence Station — ~35 min away, runs daily including weekends. Flying into PVD on a weekday? There's a skywalk straight from the airport terminal to the platform.
• Wickford Junction — ~20 min, the closest stop to us, with free parking. Weekdays only.
• Kingston Station — ~20 min from a slightly different direction; great if you're coming from Boston.
⚠️ Heads up: Wickford Junction & T.F. Green station have no weekend service. Arriving Sat or Sun? Use Providence Station, or grab a rideshare straight from PVD to Jamestown (~30 min).

Ten minutes over the bridge, loads of hotels, inns, and B&Bs. Heads up: the boat show is the same weekend, so Newport books up fast.

Does exactly what it says on the tin — a beloved island staple for pastries, coffee, and a perfect slow morning. Get there early before the good stuff goes.
Scratch-made breads, pastries, sandwiches, and the coziest little outdoor patio. Arriving Friday evening? The wood-fired pizza is genuinely legendary and not to be missed.
Warm, chef-driven, and completely unpretentious — the kind of neighbourhood spot locals come back to week after week. Miss a reservation? You'll still taste Marla's magic at the wedding — she made our cake!
One of our absolute favourites on the island. Proper seasonal cooking that consistently blows us away. If you're here Friday night, this is the move.
The island's legendary dive bar and honestly one of our favourite places on earth. Cold beer, good people, live music, zero pretension. Very good chance you'll find us here after welcome drinks — don't be a stranger.
A proper Newport legend on Bannister's Wharf — waterfront institution, incredible food, lively atmosphere, and an upstairs bar you genuinely won't want to leave. Reservations a must, especially boat show weekend.
The best raw bar in Newport, full stop. Fresh oysters, a killer lobster roll, great cocktails, and all the buzzy Thames Street energy you could want. 345 Thames Street.
Chef-driven boutique steakhouse with an open kitchen, an incredible Caesar, and ribeyes people rave about. Small room, big vibes — grab a reservation. 509 Thames Street.
Drive to the southern tip, find a spot on the rocks, and just sit with it for a minute. Genuinely stunning — one of those places that makes you put your phone down. Also free, which we love.
Dramatic granite cliffs, sweeping views over Narragansett Bay, and trails worth wandering. Fun fact: Moonrise Kingdom was filmed right here, which feels very on brand for this island.
A tucked-away little beach on the west side, perfect for a slow sunny morning. September in Rhode Island is genuinely magical — warm enough to enjoy, quiet enough to breathe.
Grab a coffee on the main drag, rent a kayak or paddleboard, and just soak it all in. It's impossible not to love it here.
A classic nine-hole with beautiful water views and a wonderfully laid-back vibe. Great excuse to get outside on a September morning — proper golfer or just vibing.
If you do one thing in Newport, make it this. Three and a half miles of Atlantic coastline with the ocean on one side and Gilded Age mansions on the other. Free, iconic, and one of the best walks in New England.
Don't feel like walking? Hop in the car, roll the windows down, and cruise the 10-mile coastal loop. Stunning scenery, relaxed vibe, perfect wedding-weekend morning energy.
Thames Street, Bellevue Avenue, Bowen's Wharf, Bannister's Wharf — honestly just start walking and you'll find something. Great boutiques, local galleries, plenty of little spots to duck into.

The Newport International Boat Show runs the same weekend as our wedding. If you want to check it out, here's what to know before you head over.
Skip the queue and buy online ahead of time at newportboatshow.com. Each ticket is valid for one day only, and it's rain or shine.
Thursday–Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 10am–5pm. Since a good portion of Saturday is obviously taken, Thursday and Friday are your best bets for a proper wander around the docks.
Our favourite by far: the Jamestown–Newport ferry drops you right at Perrotti Park, a short walk from the show. Fun, easy, zero parking stress. Honestly the only way to do it.
Parking fills up fast. Best spot is Easton's Beach (175 Memorial Blvd, Newport) with a shuttle running to the show entrance 8am–8pm. Grab a parking pass online in advance if you can.
